Disappointing Dumplings in Kirkland – Dumplings Hinata

by Jason November 30, 2018
written by Jason

I get excited every time I hear about a new restaurant opening in the West Island. I don’t live there, so why do I care? Because that part of the city deserves it. Spots like Grill Seleect, Nolahor KBBQ prove that there is space in the West Island for legit dining establishments and these types of places dismisses any stereotype that anything west of the 13 is devoid of quality restaurants. So you can imagine my excitment when I heard about a new dumpling restaurant that opened in Kirkland – Dumplings Hinata.

Beef and Coriander Dumplings, With Spicy Chilli Oil – Recipe

I was recently asked by www.thinkbeef.ca to help them show our fellow Canadians how deliciously different, yet uniquely Canadian, our nation’s kitchens are. What makes Canada one of the greatest countries in the world? Besides giving the world hockey and poutine, it’s our multiculturalism and ethnic diversity! It’s in the kitchen, where stories from generations past come alive. Going from all cultural backgrounds, it’s where we create and recreate dishes using a harmonious blend of memories and flavours that connect us with family past and present.

I was challenged to take part in their #RethinkBeef Global Recipe Swap Campaign. Bloggers from across the country swapped original recipes featuring beef to showcase its versatility as well as each blogger’s motivation and inspiration that makes our recipes uniquely Canadian. It needed to reflect our cultural background, or a culinary adventure. A family favourite or a dish that we sampled while traveling that we just couldn’t forget. But it had to hit home. Here’s my recipe Beef and Coriander Dumplings served with Spicy Chili oil!

I’ve personally lot count but I’m sure I’ve eaten well over my body weight in dumplings. As easy as they are to eat, they’re just as easy to make, and I want to show you how!

About Me

About Me

People get hungry and need to find good places to eat... I am people, and here are the places I've found. This is a log of my endeavors set forth to discover the hidden gems of the city I call home, Montreal. I vow to not leave one hot pot lid unturned, snail shell hollowed, or souvlaki foil emptied until I can safely say that I ate my way across Montreal. It's a big claim, but it's one I'm making.
