West Island KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) Restaurant Matjip

by Jason July 5, 2019
written by Jason

I’m going to start this week’s review with a slow clap… *Slow clap* dedicated to D.D.O. (Dollard-Des Ormeaux), yes, the West island. Why? Well, bravo dido, for the second review in a row the west has impressed me with not only a legit restaurant but another legit ethnic restaurant. Congratulations! You guys now have an official KFC restaurant… Korean Fried Chicken! I discovered Restaurant Matjip BBQ Coréen recently when I noticed the God-awful pizza place that use to be in this location finally closed and became a Korean restaurant. I had to check it out.

All you can eat Korean Barbecue in D.D.O. – Restaurant KBBQ.

Let’s play a quick word association game. Ready? “Dog”. Did you say “cat”? Good job! How about, “day”. Did you say “night”? Wow, you’re good! Here’s another; “Dollar-des-Ormeaux”. Did you say KOREAN BARBECUE?? WOW! You are both good looking and smart! You read that right. Besides not stopping at stop signs, most soccer fields per capita and population that considers anything past Ikea as “downtown”, the West Island can add Korean Barbecue to the list of things they’re known for! What’s even better, is brunches that stray from the traditional offering of cookie-cutter chains. Brunches by chefs and restaurants that incorporate their cuisines into their weekend menus. “Like what,” you ask? Great question! How about Cajun inspired brunch from Bistro Nolah?

About Me

About Me

People get hungry and need to find good places to eat... I am people, and here are the places I've found. This is a log of my endeavors set forth to discover the hidden gems of the city I call home, Montreal. I vow to not leave one hot pot lid unturned, snail shell hollowed, or souvlaki foil emptied until I can safely say that I ate my way across Montreal. It's a big claim, but it's one I'm making.
