Food Trucks! It all started as a small pilot-project to reintroduce the concept of food trucks and “street food” back to Montreal several years ago. Since then, the project has blossomed into a successful initiative to promote urban development and a touristic expansion throughout the city of Montreal. From a modest handful of gourmet food trucks and trailers, the fleet has now over 20 mobile food purveyors coming in all shapes and sizes. Here is everything you need to know for the 2016 Montreal food truck season.
Unlike some other major metropolitan cities in North America where food tucks have a free range of where to roam and set up shop, Montreal has designated spaces where food trucks are ale to operate. Here’s a map of where you can find some of your favourite food trucks this summer.
Some locations have changed since last year. Some listed may only be opened later this summer, so please take note of the changes if you are familiar with some locations.
This year’s official food truck season started quietly without big fanfare like previous years with a giant kickoff party at the Olympic Stadium. But we can probably expect a big bash at the first “First Friday” event scheduled in a few weeks.
