All Killer, No Filler – Chez Tousignant

by Jason January 22, 2016
written by Jason

About a year ago, Michele Forgione of the dynamic duo behind Impasto and GEMA started dropping cryptic Instagram posts eluding to homemade burgers and hot dogs and throwing around the idea of a throwback casse croute headed by Yann Tousignant. Leading his fans and followers on a year-long fast food foreplay session before it was finally announced that “Chez Tousignant” will finally be a real thing. Fast forward months of research and development and numerous social media posts and we have an authentic Quebecois casse croute in Little Italy.

Pizza by the slice in Little Italy – San Genarro

by Jason November 18, 2015
written by Jason

Montreal’s pizza game is fierce. Recently there has been an influx of pizza places popping up around town that are all bringing different concepts to the table, from places that strive to bring you the most authentic of Italian pizza experiences to those who strive to deliver your pizzas with a bucket of chicken and a mixed-meat shwarma sandwich. Not that that’s a bad thing as diversity is what makes Montreal and dinner tables less volatile while satiating a wider variety of appetites. I love pizza. I don’t know many people who don’t, and if I didn’t, they wouldn’t really be worth knowing. I recently stopped by this cute spot, San Genarro in Little Italy for lunch.

My Favourite Ice Cream Shops in Montreal – Part 2

The best. But more importantly, we’ve still got some summer left to squeeze out a few more trips to La Ronde, fire up the grill and piss off your neighbours, sit on the balcony and watch your old Italian Neighbour hose down the sidewalk for 3 hours and pound down a few more litres of the quintessential summer frozen treat, ICE CREAM. If you follow me on social media, (Twitter or Instagram) you’d know I’m a complete fiend for ice cream and have traveled across the city to find the best. Here is my second instalment (part 1 here) of my favourite ice cream shops in Montreal.

About Me

About Me

People get hungry and need to find good places to eat... I am people, and here are the places I've found. This is a log of my endeavors set forth to discover the hidden gems of the city I call home, Montreal. I vow to not leave one hot pot lid unturned, snail shell hollowed, or souvlaki foil emptied until I can safely say that I ate my way across Montreal. It's a big claim, but it's one I'm making.
