Soup Dumplings Please! – Restaurant Mei

by Jason September 18, 2013
written by Jason

Are there things that you can eat and eat and eat and never get sick of? For me it’s dumplings. Like some people joke and believe that they have separate stomach for the things they love to eat, I love dumplings. I truly believe that I really do have a separate stomach to house and digest the copious amounts of dumplings that I can eat that would frighten the common person, make old people lock their doors and children cry. Where in my body this stomach is located, I’m unsure, but I have a feeling it’s next to the stomach for pho and below the one for chips.

Ask For The Bun Bo Hue – Restaurant Sen Vang

But no, this elevated sodium and MSG ladened soup stupor opened some sort of heroine addiction like floodgate in me. Be it restaurants like Moishe’s, Schwartz’s or the Orange Julep, or spots like the Tam tams on Sunday, that corner of the Guy Concordia metro underpass that always smells like pee, or spending a good part of your Saturday afternoon trying to cross the Champlain bridge; the city has packed with unique Montreal experiences that are unrivalled by any other city.

About Me

About Me

People get hungry and need to find good places to eat... I am people, and here are the places I've found. This is a log of my endeavors set forth to discover the hidden gems of the city I call home, Montreal. I vow to not leave one hot pot lid unturned, snail shell hollowed, or souvlaki foil emptied until I can safely say that I ate my way across Montreal. It's a big claim, but it's one I'm making.
