Weekend Nosh at Arthurs Nosh Bar

by Jason October 13, 2016
written by Jason

I don’t know much about Jewish food. I’ll be the first to admit it. I mean, I’ve eaten it but it’s not like I’ve ever studied it or anything. But growing up in Montreal with grandparents who lived in the Mile-End, I can say that I ate my weight in smoked meat, lox, bagels, and Wilensky specials by the time I was eight years old. I’m not going to say that I’m well versed in the world of Jewish food, but I’m confident to say that I’m an expert in the cuisine purely based on osmosis. Ok, I wouldn’t say expert but I can tell you that a smoked karnatzel is the superior karnatzel and babka is as fun to say as it is as delicious to eat.

I recently hit up this new Jewish restaurant in St-Henri that’s slowly becoming the weekend brunch hot spot, Arthurs Nosh Bar.

Montreal Inspired Sushi – Kejaki Sushi Bar

by Jason September 29, 2016
written by Jason

I’m starting off this review with an apology, and you’ll see why. I’m often asked which are my favourite restaurants in Montreal. I always answer with the same handful of places because obviously, they are my favourites, but I’ve been lying. Ok, not LYING lying, but I haven’t been 100% honest. Not in the sense that I’m naming places that aren’t my favourites, but I haven’t been mentioning all of them. If there’s one “favourite restaurant” I’m always being asked about it’s Japanese.”Hey Jason, it’s obvious that you’re so ridiculously good looking, but more importantly, where’s your favourite Japanese restaurant in the city?” One of my favourites is Kejaki Sushi in Ville Saint-Laurent.

General Tao Chicken Wings Recipe with the Philips AirFryer

by Jason September 14, 2016
written by Jason

If you’ve read my post for the other week, you’d know I was given the Philips Air Fryer to test out. It’s been a blast trying different recipes to see if the machine really does live up to its claim of “frying” foods with little to no oil. Not only have I recreated some of their recipes, but modifying my own original recipes to omit any frying process has been an eye-opening experience. In all honesty, I was skeptical at the beginning. How does this thing “fry” with air? It was a question I set out to answer.

About Me

About Me

People get hungry and need to find good places to eat... I am people, and here are the places I've found. This is a log of my endeavors set forth to discover the hidden gems of the city I call home, Montreal. I vow to not leave one hot pot lid unturned, snail shell hollowed, or souvlaki foil emptied until I can safely say that I ate my way across Montreal. It's a big claim, but it's one I'm making.
