It’s been said that Montreal is definitely a city for foodies; our local chefs putting Montreal on the culinary map with their locally inspired and creative dishes. What we Montrealers miss out on are the culinary scenes of other cities around the country, so for the past few months Chef Martin Juneau of Pastaga (voted best new restaurant of 2012 accorting to enRoute Magazine), has started a great initiative to remedy this dilemma… with the Royal Canadian Mondays at Pastaga.
Chef Juneau invites culinary talent from across the country to Montreal and opens his kitchen to their gastronomic mastery for one Monday every other month to open the eyes and fill the stomachs of local foodies and food enthusiasts. This month he welcomes chef Quang Dang, Executive Chef of West Restaurant in Vancouver.
An “advocate of sustainability and a champion of West Coast cuisine” Chef Dang rose to rank from a junior sous-chef at Restaurant West to executive chef. He has competed in international food competitions such as the Bocuse D’Or in Lyon France, and recently represented Canadian cuisine at the 2011 European Seafood Exposition in Brussels.
Chef Dang will be treating diners to a 6-7 course set tasting menu (which is a secret until the night of the event) that is served with an optional wine pairing.
This month’s dinner happens next Monday, June the 10! I highly suggest you make your reservations quick, as seats go fast. Reserve at by calling: 438-381-6389 Hope to see you there!
