This vegetarian option is made of shredded carrot, bean curd, cabbage, bamboo shoot, and shitake mushrooms, and wrapped in a reconstituted soy bean curd sheet. It’s pan-fried and served with a dipping sauce of either black vinegar or Worcestershire sauce. The wrap itself has a chewy texture with a great crunch on the fried sides – flavour is earthy and woody. Not much vegetarian choices at dim sum, but they do exist… unless you count pork products, then dim sum is practically vegan.
